PostSubject: PC advice needed.   Fri Mar 19, 2010 4:25 pm

Ok, this is what i play warrock on:

Now, first, how good or bad is that? Its the only PC i have ever played warrock on so I've never noticed anything...

So im thinking of upgrading. I thought about a custom build, but its not my thing.

Im going to buy a prebuilt PC that can play warrock with little gun lag and handle BG maps well(important as i play alot of bg)

So far I have found these:

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/advent-centurion-cpd1301-04153050-pdt.html

How well will they run warrock? Should I buy one? Do i need to spend the extra £100?

If you have anything else you feel you be better for around the same price feel free to post. Remember though, it must be able to be shipped to the Uk.

Thanks mens.

Im surprised, my computer is better then yours hahha. anyways you should get a new graphics card (if your psu supports one) that would increase your performance greatly.

To be honest, that's one of your best choices. Directx 11 5770, dual core @3.00, 500 GB space, 4 GB ram, your standard every day gaming rig at a relatively low price.

I can keep looking if you like.

Actually, just look here and see if you like anything and post it here for comparison.

What sort of Fps would that give me in warrock fattie? It looks cool great for what I need. Warrock is the only game I play tbh but i want a pc that can let me play it properly
not with 60 fps.

I liek these aswell though, which one? If theres no real difference cheapest wins.

http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/UK_ULTRAYIN/ <---- doent look as good imo, though Im not a specialist.

And fist, I thought about upgrading but i see little point. I would only upgrade speed about £100 doing it, then 6 months down the line need to buy a new pc, but with a smaller budget.
Polishing a turd and all that....

Thanks fattie

Its worth noting that while the Cyber power system is more expensive it comes with windows 7 all ready, which I would prbably buy on the overclockers one.

Everything posted will run warrock at maximum FPS, so it's just a matter of budget really.

I personally dislike cyberpower as people have had issues with them in the past but feel free, as for the windows 7 you can alway torrent it and I have a working activator I can send you.

I might need to go a little bit cheaper, definatly lower than £500.

Something around 400 maybe?

You could easily build a computer for around 350-450 USD that can run max no problem. That's just talking about the tower though.

I know you said you didn't want to build one but I'd honestly reconsider. It's better performance for cheaper and you know more about your computer in case you ever have any problems with it. It's really easy to put together you just need to make sure all the parts are compatible before you purchase them. Depending on the resolution you play at you could get by really cheap, WarRock isn't too demanding to be honest.

Last night I was running a virtual machine with windows XP. You don't need a $1,000 PC to running warrock. A 256MB video card and a dual core 2.20+ GHz processor, and 2 GB ram will be suffice. That's what my VM was using and I was able to play warrock without any lag.

I was testing warrock on different specs. Good thing I can alter HDD space, RAM and processor speeds as desired.

Right now, I'm trying to run warrock on OS X Leopard. Very Happy

Sorry for getting off topic, but I think this is interesting stuff. hehe

Some of the textures were messed up, Like medic is bald and her hair is 5' away form head. You are not holding your guns in hand. etc etc. I think part of this has to do with playing on 128 MB GPU with customizable resolutions.

This system is great for testing compatibility and getting feel for before upgrading/downgrading OSs.
